A design which moves through simplistic to naturalistic, with a contemporary Mediterranean style pool terrace leading on to a bold and rugged water feature at the edge of the forest.
The carefully spaced gaps in the walls allow views through to planting and routes to the landscape beyond, leading out to the new dramatic stacked waterfall built from stone boulders and dropping into interconnected ponds linked via a stream through planting, stepping stones and a naturalistic beach area.
This garden connects a historic country house to its setting in distinct staged areas, with contemporary spaces set near the house and more natural spaces laid out beyond. Views towards mature trees in the garden and to the forest beyond are captured and framed at strategic points, ensuring they remain a part of the newly created areas.
